We were one of the first Dementia Action Alliances in the country, established in 2013.  We have, and continue to, raise awareness of dementia to reduce stigma that is associated with that first diagnosis.  In the last couple of years we have extended our purpose to develop opportunities for people with dementia to take part in community based activities.

Our track record

Reading Friends       We have a Reading Friends project which currently takes place in Woodhouse, Upperthorpe, Fir Vale, Northern General Hospital and Woodseats.  You will find information about the project on this website.

Friendship lunches    In partnership with Home Instead we are pleased to tell you that 10 Friendship Lunches are up and running.  Have a look on the website to find out where they are.

Tea Dances                The Crucible Theatre, Ponds Forge, Wincobank Village Hall and Beighton Lifestyle Centre all offer tea dances.  You will find information on this website.

Fire & Home Safety  A project with South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue to raise awareness of fire safety with people living with dementia has left us with DVD's which we can forward to you on request.

Physical Exercise       Concorde Sports Centre currently offers exercise for people who have early onset dementia.
